Participants in the Donate-a-Meal Movement skip a meal several times a month with hearts full of compassion for people afflicted by poverty or conflict, and donate the savings to help them. Participants in the movement pray and make offerings for the happiness of those who suffer. The Rissho Kosei-kai Donate-a-Meal Fund for Peace uses their contributions for such main categories as reducing poverty and hunger, developing education and human resources, providing emergency relief, and supporting reconstruction in areas of disaster or conflicts.
